There are 1.3 million members of Lions Clubs International – the largest service club organization in the world – with over 45,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographic areas. Since its founding in 1917, both men and women have become members of the Lions and given their time to humanitarian causes.
The association’s motto is “We Serve,” and while Lions Club members do help those in need, they also develop personal friendships and important leadership skills along the way.
Big Bear Lions Club was chartered on April 5, 1939 with thirty local business leaders. Since its founding nearly seventy years ago, the Big Bear Lions Club has had an inspiring record of service and achievement in the community as well as in Lions District 4-L5 and MD-4. From eye screening for local children and adults, to co-sponsoring Big Bear’s annual MS Walk, the spirit of Lionism is portrayed by our Club’s members and will always be at the heart of our efforts.
